It is about twice the size of California and is one of seven self-sufficient food producing nations. The Asian part of Turkey is called Anatolia or Asia Minor. The diverse landscape along with the four seas, over a dozen rivers, numerous lakes and mountains have created seven different climate zones which in return have made the flora and fauna varied and abundant.
