The people who maintain and contribute to this site are long term expats who have lived continuously in Holland for many years. This experience is reflected in our pages which have been praised for their honesty and authenticity by both expats and Dutch visitors alike.
We do not indulge in culture shock or poking fun at the Dutch - we have lived here too long for that. Our culture shock comes when we visit our native countries! Besides there are plenty of expat sites on the internet which do this and good luck to them. We prefer to supply solid, well-written information which provides an alternative view.
After starting out in 2002 as 'Haarlem Shuffle', which provided information for local Haarlem expats, we gradually expanded to include the whole country. NL Planet maintains the high standards with attractive, quick-loading pages and intuitive navigation.
