Pine Avenue's a nice place. When you have visitors in town, lunch or dinner at the Como, Fortuna's or Pete's Market House is a must on the to-do list. A bit farther out, the Strangio family's excellent Antonio's is -- without question -- the finest banquet hall in the city.
It was hard to shake the feeling of having been there before. A group of young men rounded up -- not in some arid Middle Eastern country but within a short drive from Niagara Falls -- and charged with taking part in terrorist training. A Muslim community stunned by the accusations against its sons.
Appeared before federal Judge Richard Arcara last week in connection with the racketeering case against Laborers Local 91. Courtrooms make me nervous and, thankfully, I don't have occasion to spend much time in them.
