Description

(1) The free-style warm-up allows time for our bodies and minds to stretch, release, let go of daily tensions and stress. The warm-up allows time and space to check in with body/mind and become aware of areas that may need special attention. This helps each dancer avoid physical injuries and maintain their own physical/mental/emotional boundaries during the dance.

(2) The opening circle creates a sense of entering sacred space, establishing a safe container in which to explore the dance. Facilitators guide participants to a body-centered awareness, stilling the logical, rational mind and supporting a deeper journey into the Self.

(3) Because the dance experience remains non-verbal, the kinesthetic sense is heightened, allowing the body to speak through the universal language of movement. The dance lasts approximately one hour. The music is designed to facilitate the ecstatic journey. There is no dance instruction, and no judgment! Only your body knows how it wants to move. Although there is “no talking”, please feel free to yell, scream, sing or make sounds as you feel inspired!
