- New Hope Fellowship was established in 1983 as San Pedro Evangelical Free Church. The name change took place on October 31, 2004. The church moved from the local high school to its present 7½ acre complex in 1994 when a local builder/investor offered the church 5 acres. Finding that part of the acreage could not be used for housing, he added 2½ more acres. The buildings consist of a sanctuary (occupancy of about 200), an attached Fellowship Hall, offices, library and nursery rooms and a separate Student Ministries and Christian Education building (of about the same size with six class rooms). There is also a regulation softball field as well as plenty of open area for expansion.
