- The North Grenville Historical Society is a new organization resulting from the amalgamation in the year 2001 of the Oxford-on-Rideau and Kemptville and District Historical Societies - both organizations of long standing volunteer heritage activity in the North Grenville community. The Oxford-on-Rideau Historical Society was originally formed in 1982 as a committee of the Oxford Mills Community Association and operated as a historical society from its incorporation in 1991 until the amalgamation. The Kemptville and District Historical Society was incorporated and granted charitable status in 1986. Both societies have been working together as a unit as a result of the amalgamation in 1998 of the former Oxford-on-Rideau Township, the Town of Kemptville and South Gower Township to form the Township of North Grenville. The North Grenville Historical Society is a member of the North Grenville Arts and Culture Council.
