why does nextel suck? I've received terrible customer service on dozens of occasions from many different departments. Bad phone service, customer service and billings.
how bad are they? It is of my opinion that they are bad enough to warrant a website devoted completely to helping others deal with this company and collecting stories from customers that have had terrible experiences with them.

Nextelsucks.org was started by just one of many dissatisfied customers of Nextel. Ty Hiither of Michigan began the site in 2001 after experiencing some horrible customer service and billing practices at the hands of the company. Only after calling an executive dozens of times and harassing customer service managers was Ty able to get the problem resolved. Just after Ty renewed the site domain in 2003, Nextel sent a letter threatening to sue if the domain was not handed over to them immediately. They claimed Ty was infringing on their copyright as well as many other baseless claims. Ty went to the media, emailing everyone possible, magazines, websites, newspapers, tv stations. The ACLU of Michigan contacted Nextel on Ty's behalf to notify them they didn't have a case.

According to the website, Nextel never replied in hard copy to the ACLU letter. Their response was a phone call letting the ACLU know that the threatening email was sent to Ty "on accident".
