In the area of email marketing, Derek Newman was the first attorney to be awarded attorneys fees against a Washington state plaintiff alleging Derek's client violated Washington's unsolicited commercial email or spam law.

- John Du Wors
John’s practice emphasizes intellectual property litigation and bankruptcy. He is particularly knowledgeable about the collateralization of intellectual property assets and treatment of intellectual property security interests in bankruptcy. During the past couple of years, John took five cases to trial. He won them all, including three before California juries.
- Martin Garthwaite
Martin practices patent and other intellectual property law, provides advice on corporate governance, and has substantial experience in the domain name and software industries.
Martin began his legal career in the telecommunications industry handling regulatory, technical, and land use issues for wireless carriers. In 1997, he joined Conversay, a Redmond based speech recognition software company, where he oversaw software licensing, trademark, patent, and corporate issues, and was eventually promoted to general counsel and corporate secretary.
- Randall Moeller
Randy practices intellectual property and Internet related litigation. Additionally, he oversees Newman & Newman's trademark prosecution practice (and has been responsible for hundreds of federal trademark applications), and prepares and prosecutes patent applications. Randy also advises clients on issues relating to copyrights, misappropriation of trade secrets, domain name disputes and other matters relating to intellectual property.
Derek A. Newman
Derek focuses his practice primarily on Internet law, intellectual property, advertising law, entertainment and the First Amendment. He handles complex civil litigation, as well as business deals and corporate transactions.
Jessica V. Newman
Jessica's practice focuses on trademark law and management of intellectual properties. She advises clients in disputes involving trademark, copyright and domain name infringement, as well as issues involving advertising law including First Amendment protections, e-mail marketing and solicitation concerns. Jessica also represents clients in matters involving rights of publicity and privacy matters; and she assists in the selection and protection of trademarks and in seeking federal trademark registration.
- Michael Spain
Michael is a special projects attorney at Newman & Newman. His work emphasizes First Amendment issues as well as corporate transaction and litigation support. He has several years of experience in litigation as a trial attorney and a mediator.
- Roger M. Townsend
Roger's practice emphasizes technology transactional matters and complex commercial litigation. He has represented a variety of clients in the technology and entertainment industries in transactions to license intellectual property rights, perform technology services, joint ventures, distribution agreements, and other matters. He has served as Corporate Counsel for Qpass Inc., a Wireless and Internet software technology company with over 200 employees at its peak. He currently has several high-technology clients and about half of his practice is devoted to transactional work.
- Nathan D. Webb
Nathan's practice focuses on business transactions, intellectual property issues and corporate compliance for emerging technology, media and entertainment companies. Nathan has extensive experience overseeing and negotiating a variety of distribution, employment, licensing, strategic partnership, joint venture and acquisition agreements for both large and small businesses.
- John Whitaker
John oversees Newman & Newman's patent practice, and has prepared hundreds of patent applications for inventions in a wide variety of subject areas. He has particular expertise working with issues involving computer software and hardware, Internet, e-commerce, telecommunications, electronics, networks and other related technologies; and has had dozens of patents issue in those fields for clients from small businesses to major Fortune 500 companies. He also counsels clients on intellectual property portfolio strategy and management (from both protection and monetization standpoints), patent license agreements and related transactions, patent invalidity and non-infringement issues, freedom-to-practice concerns, and corporate due diligence concerning intellectual property.
- S. Christopher Winter
S. Christopher Winter (who is known as "Kit") focuses his practice on Internet, intellectual property and media law litigation. He also advises Internet and intellectual property based clients in strategic planning and risk management.
