- The Humanist Movement (HM) refers to the collection of people worldwide who participate in the proposals of New Humanism, particularly those outlined in the Statement of the Humanist Movement. The HM is not itself an institution, though it has given rise to a wide range of groups and organizations and it establishes close working relationships with all progressive groups on the basis of criteria of non-discrimination, reciprocity, and the convergence of diversity. The function of the HM is to develop a human network capable of producing non-violent social change while at the same time helping its members in their personal development.
