Let me address the Ned thing, it's my initials. Unfortunately due to the vast number of Richards' on the web when you try to register for a site all of the Nick Richards' or nrichards' are usually taken. To my knowledge (and I've registered for an awful lot of stuff) there aren't many other nedrichards' out there. I could go on about multivalent identities in an anonymous space and distancing through roleplay but I suspect that'd give a worse impression than I really want.
I live and work in London doing interesting techy things. Currently I'm working as an Interaction Designer for a large mobile operator named after a secondary colour. I enjoy what I do, I'm told this is unusual. Oh and unlikely as it may be that anybody would take me seriously, I'm never speaking for anyone other than myself on this site.
I like colophons. This website is coded on a variety of computers running Ubuntu Linux and elsewhere using Apache, PHP and WordPress. It is hosted on Debian Linux at Bytemark in London, and very good they are too. As this is my personal website it is designed with web standards in mind, if your browser supports these standards it all looks great and as I intended. If you don't then it should degrade gracefully all the way down to looking good on my phone. Type is set in Humanist, my handwriting font 'nedrichards' and the Bitstream Vera fonts.
