- I created naturefocused.com as a way to share the many wilderness adventures I have had the opportunity to experience. Nearly eight years ago I began practicing landscape photography with the hope of at least trying to capture the beautiful scenery I encountered on my backpacking trips into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. During these trips I had lugged with me a single lens reflex (SLR) camera, several lenses and filters, and a very heavy tripod. This being the age before digital photography, I had mainly used Fuji Velvia film, a film known for its high color saturation and a film I thought perfect for the colorful landscapes I had the opportunity to see.
