My quest for understanding the sword has taken me to numerous sword shows in the U.S. and abroad. To temples and shrines of Japan. From the museums of major metropolitan cities to remote villages of Japan. It has led me to speak with martial artists, collectors and sword smiths. From long ago I have studied hard to obtain Japanese language ability and submersed myself deep in the culture to serve as a foundation for deeper learning and understanding. I have also studied kendo. With this knowledge I have moved forward. It has been an upward struggle, surprisingly dealing with prejudice (and or perhaps fear) from some here in the U.S. I have dealt with slanderous, unsubstantiated attacks. Most times by those who would flaunt the little bit of knowledge that they may posess to those that are less in the know, unaware that they are being manipulated and exploited but worst of all, many times, mis-informed. This has caused me to move more cautiously but more resolutely. It seems that many would build there reputation with words. I would prefer that examples of my work be the determining factor in your judgment.
