Naga Valli Medicharla grew up in Bombay (Mumbai), India amidst an amalgam of cultures from across the country, with parents who held a deep appreciation for the performing arts. Valli took her first voice lesson at the age of seven, when her dance teacher quit (which spelled the end of Valli's dance career!) and a teacher from school suggested that Valli take up vocal lessons.
