Mystery and Misery

Description

Mystery & Misery is a weblog devoted to independent and underground music. I do this for fun and to expose more people to some better music. And if I could get a few bands to make their way to Rochester, NY, that would be nice too. Content will include links to band’s websites, legal mp3s (or other music files like ogg), labels, reviews, and general comments. Once in a while I will get off track and talk about other things, but not often. I use Text Pattern to update and control content. The speakers on the top of each page are minipods.

My name is Jason Wilder. I’m married to a great wife, whose website will appear shortly. We have a daughter who is three, a dog, and a cat. For a paycheck, I am happily employed at Thomson West as a senior editor publishing legal books and content for Westlaw.com. I also should mention that I am a Dodgers and an Arsenal fan. I like many genres of music, from many of the different variations of rock, jazz, electronica, experimental and folk. I am partial to music that fits into the dream-, noise-pop, and shoegaze sound.

When I was trying to come up with a new domain name, I bought the Rainer Maria album that was out at the time. The song, Mystery and Misery struck a chord with me. I am not a big Rainer Maria fan, but I like their music and the song speaks truths. A little mystery and misery adds spice to life.
