About MXR
In the UK, there are a number of consortia that have formed to provide a range of new digital radio services across the country hosted on either a 'national', 'regional' or 'local' multiplex. The regional multiplex owners include MXR, Switch Digital, and the Digital Radio Group.
The MXR Consortium has been formed by leading radio operators including Chrysalis Radio Group PLC, GCap Media, Guardian Media Group plus UBC Digital Ltd and Ford Motor Company Ltd. To date we have been awarded the licences to operate multiplexes (bundles of individual radio services) in South Wales and the West, the North West, the North East, the West Midlands and Yorkshire.
