THE COMPANY
Icelandic Mountain Guides was founded in 1994 by four young, enthusiastic mountain guides with a desire to get off the beaten track while at the same time protecting the unique, Icelandic wilderness that draws visitors back year after year. Icelandic Mountain Guides has since introduced an entirely new range of services for tourists, not to mention the opportunity to explore previously inaccessible wilderness regions of Iceland and Greenland. Today, Icelandic Mountain Guides is the first place people come to in Iceland for specialist support and expertise when arranging walking, hiking, trekking and mountaineering trips. We believe that everybody can enjoy nature, hence our motto: Adventure for everybody.
True to its roots, the company has applied innovation and creativity in the development of its services, recently winning the first ever Icelandair Pioneer Award (2006). Not only that, our Environmental Policy ensures that whatever the activity, wilderness areas are left pretty much as we find them while our Safety Policy maintains a standard unmatched by any of our competitors.
