"I founded Morgan Multimedia in august 1990, leaving my programer job on inbord computers of AIRBUS's engines at SNECMA Paris. At this (ancient) time I wanted to work on something called 'multimedia' and spent a lot of my time and energy to try to convince potentials customers that 'multimedia' was not just a toy but could be very usefull. At the same time war in the Gulf didn't help much to find partners and investors. I finally found 2 key partners locally and started to work on two kinds of projects : Medical Imagery and Language learning multimedia laboratory. I worked almost alone on these projects until 1998. In 1998 I was developing a networking virtual VCR, and I needed a software MJPEG codec to finish the project. I contacted Paradigm Matrix to license their codec but after several mounth of discussions we haven't yet found an agreement. So I decided to develop this codec myself. Quickcly the personal challenge became my codec to be better and faster than Paradigm's one. At late 1998 I released it on the Internet, just to see what happened, a sort of internet-proof. I quickly realized the potential and decided to re-focus my business on the codec and more generally digital video."
