On 26th April 2009, Lee and his little brother Ryan designed a cool new website which gives kids the chance to create and share their very own homepage - for free. 2 months later after the website was developed, MoonSponge was made live on the internet.
Back in 2002/2003 when Lee was just 12 years old, he was told about a website called MatMice by his nan which offered free homepages for kids too. The website was created by three sisters called Emily, Sarah, and Elise and over the years attracted 100,000's of children who all wanted to create their own homepage.
Lee signed up and created his first ever homepage, updated it every day and told all his mates about it! From this page, Lee went on to learn more and more about how the web works and managed to get his first full time job in a Web Design company by the age of 15 after leaving school. After just under 2 years of working there and learning new skills, he went on to work for a bigger company and has been there since.
At the age of 18, Lee decided to check back on his very first homepage with MatMice and discovered that the MatMice website was no longer there and the three sisters were no longer running it. It was a huge shame to have lost his first homepage, and he wasn't the only one either. 100,000's of kids homepages were gone for good! Lee wanted to introduce Ryan, his little brother, to Matmice so he could start his own homepage too.
Since MatMice there has been no other free homepage services which are focused directly towards children. This is what sparked the idea to start something himself. Armed with the imagination of his little brother, the experience and design skills that he has gained over the years, and the happy memories of MatMice, Lee decided to create a completely new service himself to give kids the chance to have their own homepage for free, once again.
