ModernPublic.com is the town square for the 21st century. Most citizens do not have the time to become involved in city issues. Attending city meetings often conflicts with the busy schedules of modern citizens. This is unfortunate because local government is where citizens have the most influence on decisions which directly effect their lives, where they live. ModernPublic.com provides citizens a common place to communicate, debate, and participate in polls about local city issues. It's all done at a time convenient to each individual.
Citizens trying to organize in favor or opposed to various issues can find it quite difficult to gather together people with similar ideas. ModernPublic.com provides a common place to organize.
Quite often, our representatives vote on issues in opposition to the will of the voters. This is not how a representative government should work. By polling citizens on these issues, the public can gain a feel of how fellow citizens feel about the issues. If our representatives vote in opposition to the people, this fact will quickly be noticed and the people can then quickly take action. Polling used to be costly and difficult.
