Modern Pea Pod :: Vol. 2 :: No. 2
Excerpted from the website:
- The internet has had a profound effect on the way we explore pop culture, spend our money, and digest our information. For the first one-hundred years or so of Western mass-media, the companies producing what was seen and heard, and the consumers taking it all in, all accepted what information scientists have come to refer to as the "broadcast model." Businesses would produce media and products meant to appeal to as many people as possible, and would send that out into the world where we, the ever-growing populous, would complacently take it in. Culture was created for and shaped by the middle ground. Tastes were held commonly by all, and the preferences of the fringe were irrelevant, and they were thus forced underground.
