MODEL TRAINS BY DESIGN has been in existence since the year 2000. Through affiliation with Reynauld's Euro-Imports I was encouraged to take up Model building in earnest. Although having been in the hobby for over forty years, building and designing layouts for myself and a few close friends, with Rey & Roman's encouragement the company was formed.
The family history in railroading goes back three generations. With my father and grandfather both having worked in various positions with the German Railroad. It is from that background, and being raised in Germany, that I draw most of the inspiration in scenery and design.
