We're a group of dedicated PDA maniacs and mobile technology lovers who've been working with PDAs since the days of the Apple Newton. Located in Silicon Valley, US, we're at the heart of industry which makes getting news and reviews to you that much easier! Our site was founded in 1998 and our name changed from pdabuyersguide.com to MobileTechReview.com in Jan. 2005 to better reflect the broad range of mobile technology we cover.
We love all PDAs, and are not biased toward one platform. Each kind of PDA is suited to a certain set of needs, and that means that there's a place for Palm OS PDAs, Windows-based PDAs and Linux PDAs too. While the most expensive units offer the most features, we understand that our readers have all sorts of budgets and hence we review models in all price ranges and will never tell you that you've got to buy the most expensive model out there.
We are not owned by a parent corporation and we are not supported by any of the manufacturers whose products we review here. We like it this way: it insures that our site will offer you unbiased reviews and opinions of the products you're considering purchasing. Our staff writes all reviews on this site, they are never farmed out to commercial writing firms. How do we manage to make a living? A small percentage of our revenue comes from banner advertising. Most of our revenue comes from merchandise links you'll see to buy PDAs. These links go to our trusted affiliates' stores such as Amazon.com.
