About Us
Mixed Media began as an official enterprise in 1996, but it's roots go back to 1982 when founder Tom Mehren took his first stab at using computers.
As head buyer for a 35 store music retail chain, Mehren taught himself Lotus 1-2-3 over a weekend and began creating spread sheet programs used to purchase and manage the company's inventory.
Moving out of purchasing, but remaining in the music industry, Mehren went to work for Windham Hill Records holding various positions in the marketing and sales divisions of the company. During his tenure he continually found ways to use computers to simplify and increase the output of his work. He also spent many hours working with artists to develop their careers and increase their exposure.
