Mintlaw Judo Club
Mintlaw Judo Club began back in 1988 by Fergus Pirie (coach). Originally established as a lunch-time club, Fergus's intentions were to introduce Mintlaw students to the sport of Judo and to determine students interest in establishing there own club.
The club took off and as a result there was a demand for evening tuition. Unfortunately Fergus had prior commitments in Fraserburgh with his own well established and publicised club the Broch Bushido and Mintlaw club was handed over to Stewart Davies and latterly Richard Clark.
Early 1999 Fergus was approached by Neil Ironside of Community Education to once again Coach Mintlaw Judo Club and in August 1999 Fergus officially accepted and took over the club along with his wife Tracey as Club Secretary.
