Description
Mind in Dacorum works for a better life for anyone experiencing mental or emotional distress. As well as the stigma and prejudice that surrounds the issue of mental illness, many people also experience loneliness and a sense of isolation. It is therefore important to have ‘a local organisation meeting local needs’. Having a local organisation can and does, encourage people to develop a network of support that is close and accessible to them. This in turn can promote confidence and independence and allow people to make supportive links with others.
The main offices for Mind in Dacorum are in Hemel Hempstead, but these services are offered throughout the Borough of Dacorum.
Mind has a small team of qualified and experienced staff but depends heavily on the support of a large team of dedicated and highly trained volunteers.
