Description

The project is based on a cooperation of an international network of analysts and organizations. The Workshop on Developments and Patterns of Migration Processes in Central and Eastern Europe was organised from 25 to 27 August 2005 in order to stregthen the creation of this network. The English version of the website builds on the three-year-long experience of the Czech one at www.migraceonline.cz focusing on migration issues in the Czech Republic in a Central European context.

The aim of the Migration Online project is to promote dialogue and international comparisons in the field of migration. As various research results demonstrated, many forms of migration movement take place within the region of Central and Eastern European countries. What policy conditions have been created for migrants to come, work, settle or return back home? The English version of the website at www.migrationonline.cz offers both original and republished analyses, interviews, reports, projects of NGOs and an address book mapping large scales of migration processes in the region.

The project of this website is a part of the Migration program supported by the Open Society Fund Prague. The program is a joint effort of three organizations: Multicultural Center Prague, People in Need and Counseling Centre for Citizenship, Civil and Human Rights.
