TMD Technologies Limited (TMD) is one of the world’s leading designers of microwave tubes, high voltage power supplies and subsystems for radar, EW, communications, EMC and RF testing, medical and laboratory applications. Our origins can be traced back to the high power klystron group of EMI, involved with the development of the first airborne radars during the 1940s. Since then, as part of EMI and later THORN, the company has been responsible for many of the major technical advances in the industry. In the last 20 years we have radically enhanced our expertise in switched mode power supply and microwave subsystem design.
In 1995 the company completed a management buyout from THORN EMI and we are now an independent company conveniently located only 10 minutes drive from London’s Heathrow airport. In the last 10 years we have expanded our markets, which had traditionally been military, to include more commercial applications. So although we still have a large military customer base, we are also producing commercial amplifiers for the EMC, medical and scientific markets and offering a wide range of special processing services to a variety of new industries. TMD offers its customers a truly unique design and engineering capability, based on over 60 years’ experience in the complex field of microwave tube technology, and supported at all times by an experienced, worldwide network of local representatives.
