Mentor Listing Realty charges $399 to put homes in the Realtor owned Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in their area. They serve most of Indiana (over 50 counties) and have announced plans to be state wide in Indiana soon. Mentor Listing Realty also serves the 10 counties in Illinois comprising the Chicago metropolitan area. Service in Michigan is planned for 2008.
They only take "exclusive agency" listings, which means that the home owner can continue to market their home themselves. If the home owner sells the home without a Realtor, no commission is owed.
When owners sign a listiing contract with Mentor Listing Realty, they specify the amount of commission they will pay a Realtor representing a buyer, if that Realtor brings the owner a contract that the owner accepts. Commissions to Realtors representing buyers are paid at closing.
Mentor Listing is the only major Indiana broker offering this kind of service.
