Description

This memorial website was created for our angel, Hannah Elizabeth Ehlert who was born in The Woodlands, Texas on March 03, 1995.

She was both beautiful on the outside and, more importantly, on the inside. She displayed maturity and insight far beyond her years. As our first child her birth was awaited with great anticipation. Just moments from her mothers womb she cried for only seconds, then stopped, and opened her eyes wide, eager to embrace this vast new world. As an infant Hannah would not allow us to carry her in typical fashion, with her face pressed against our body. She would twist and squirm until we were forced to turn her around, where she could see the path ahead. This tenacious lust for knowledge would lead her to walk by six months, and speak her first words by just eight months of age. Hannah had a great appreciation for life. She became a big sister at sixteen months, and immediately assumed the role of mentor and protector of her younger brother Austin. Always considerate of his needs, she would allow him privilege and provide him care. Hannah was willing to sacrifice for the benefit of others to a degree that few adults have achieved, and far beyond the scope of most children.

Touted as “the smartest kid in class” by her schoolmates, Hannah’s greatest attribute was her kind heart. Though she was bright, athletic, beautiful, funny, and popular, Hannah chose as her best friend a girl that shared few of her talents. After Hannah’s funeral we received dozens of notes from the children at her school. The most touching of these came from the girl Hannah called her best friend. She wrote that when the other children would ridicule her, calling her “fat”, “ugly”, or “stupid”, Hannah would be the only one to come to her defense.
