Ruggedly handsome Mem trained at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
This unnervingly intense and remarkably charismatic actor was born October 1963 in Chelsea, South West London. The son of a Turkish Agricultural Minister he became fascinated with the art of acting from a very young age. However, it was not until he had achieved a BSc in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) that he went on to act professionally.
Armed with a Postgraduate degree in Classical Acting from LAMDA, Mem continued to expand his craft attending further study at RADA and at the Michael Chekhov Studio, London. He is bilingual, speaking English and Turkish fluently and is also a master of Eastern European and American accents.
With a visual presence that locks your eyes to the screen Mem Ferda often takes audiences to dangerous places of gangsters, killers, psychopaths and crooked cops. The impact of his 6ft 2 frame and compelling blue-grey eyes produce stunning close ups and his interpretation of character always leave them burned into a viewer’s memory. Ever expansive is his versatility he can often be seen delivering insightful, delicate and acutely perceptive performances of a softer, more subtle nature.
A firm believer in helping others to succeed he is often noted for making generous contributions to Drama Student Hardship Funds as well as various charity organizations.
