Melissa & Co. Salon is owned and operated by Melissa Connerly along with her parents Bob and Jan Riley. The family relocated here in January of 1991 as part of a transfer with the company Bob and Jan worked for at the time. Jan brings her 24 years of professional business experience to the salon. She manages the financial and accounting side of the business.
Melissa attended Villa De Paz elementary school and graduated from West View High School in 1999. She attended Carsten Institute in Tempe and then continued her education as an assistant in his Scottsdale salon. She has taken many advanced Goldwell & Aveda color classes and is a Goldwell & Aveda Color Expert. Melissa manages the day to day activities in the salon. She loves to meet new clients and has great people skills, which in such a large salon can be put to good use daily.
The interior design of the salon projects an open, clean and uncluttered feeling which clients comment on daily. Melissa was solely responsible for the design and layout of the salon. Jan says "We offered to hire her an interior designer to help with the interior but she refused. She very much wanted it to reflect her own personal style.
