Peter Charles Tabuns, otherwise known as Pete, was born in London, Ontario. As the son of recent immigrants to Canada, his family shared a home with other immigrants. His mother Sally was born and raised in England and his father Tony was born and raised in Latvia, which at the time was part of the former Soviet Union. Tony managed to leave his homeland and immigrate to England. As a skilled auto mechanic, he was able to find work fixing farm machinery and equipment. This is where he met his future wife Sally. The two moved to Canada shortly after marrying. Pete also has two siblings, Frank and Anna.
