Heritage Week 2006: 26th August - 3rd September
Are you involved with a project which promotes the heritage of Meath? Would you like to take part in Heritage Week 2006 by holding an event in your area? Now is the time to start planning.
Heritage Week 2006 will take place earlier than usual this year and will run from Sunday 26th August to Sunday 3rd September. It is hoped that the earlier dates will accommodate families who wish to be involved in Heritage Week before the return to school. Last year we had numerous events take place throughout the county, from guided walks, to historical re-enactments and locally organised exhibitions.
There are many ways to take part in Heritage Week 2006. Events can be held at a variety of venues, such as monuments and historical sites, parks and gardens, woodlands, wildlife reserves and inland waterways, schools, libraries and heritage centres. You can involve organizations and people such as local historians, wildlife experts, local authorities, schools, churches, community groups, youth clubs, drama groups, musicians, artists and anyone who is willing to provide ideas, information and support.
