Description
The MCH Policy Research Center is a health policy group that provides federal and state policymakers, public health officials, and provider and family organizations with analysis, objective research, and strategic guidance on financing and service delivery issues affecting children and adolescents, particularly those with special needs and those from low-income families. Operating for more than 20 years, The Center was founded by Harriette Fox, Margaret McManus, and Paul Newacheck and is currently co-directed by Ms. Fox and Ms. McManus. We provide our clients with critical information and ideas intended to improve the effectiveness of the health care system for children. Through analysis of legislative and program policies and our own surveys, the convening of expert work groups, and the provision of technical and strategic support, we assist policy makers and other health care leaders in making critical decisions.
The focus of our work has included Medicaid, SCHIP, and private insurance; public and private managed care reforms and innovations; public program changes and impacts; reimbursement policies and options; pediatric workforce issues; service delivery and financing models; and assessments of health care needs and access among adolescents and children with special needs. Our past and present clients include federal and state agencies, major foundations, national organizations, and universities.
