McColly Real Estate was founded in 1974 by Ronald F. McColly. After obtaining his real estate license in 1969, Ron first went to work for a small company, then moved to a larger company before deciding to go out on his own.

McColly Realtors, Inc. was thus born. As with all start-up companies, survival was first and foremost. The number one goal at the time was building a staff so as to establish a name in the marketplace.

In 1976, McColly joined the Century 21 franchise. Even though Century 21 McColly Realtors had grown to 3 sales offices and nearly 70 sales associates, they had reached a point where too many Century 21 companies had saturated the market thus limiting the growth potential for McColly Realtors.
