- I was born and raised in and near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and remained in that area until the spring of 1991. I grew up on a small acreage, one of a large family. As far back as I can remember, I would sit with my brothers and sisters around the large kitchen table, drawing or doing something creative. My mother was one of the most creative people I have known, and my father came from a family where art talent was abundant.
