A Long Island singer/songwriter Marie DelaCruz has been singing and writing songs for most of her life. But it wasn't until she went through a difficult divorce several years ago, that Delacruz finally gained the courage to thrust herself into her true passion of writing and performing her songs in front of audiences whenever and wherever she could. In the last few years, this BMI artist, who makes her home in Northport, New York, has performed solo and with various bands in many coffee houses, pubs, clubs, restaurants, and open mics in the Long Island and New York City area. Delacruz is co-producing her album (tenatively titled No Expiration Date) with producer/enginner extraordinare Brian Unger of Paris Recording Studio. Recently, this Latina multi-instrumentalist, who plays guitar, bass and alittle keyboard, was also invited to Nashville to songwrite and work alongside talented producer/guitarist, John Piniero. Currently, Delacruz is putting the finishing touches on her forthcoming debut CD, a wonderful collection of original acoustic, folk, pop, country and bluesy songs, which she wrote all the lyrics and music for.
