In 1998, the The Marcus Lewis Tennis Center (MLTC) in Acton, Massachusetts was founded by tennis professional Marcus Lewis. Using a platform of always going the extra mile for the customer, The MLTC quickly grew to become one of the most successful outdoor tennis enterprises in the area. After numerous requests for a camp that encompassed more than just tennis, The Marcus Lewis Day Camp (MLDC) was launched in the summer of 2002 at The Bromfield School in rustic Harvard, MA. The MLDC is now one of the fastest growing camps in New England with a second site planned to open at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, in 2008.
The MLDC is the most progressive day camp you will find in the New England area. The program engages campers ages 5-16 by allowing them to design their own camping experience. This exciting and innovative program permits campers to choose their activities every day according to their skill development. Campers can specialize in artistic, athletic and even technology based activities that are specifically aligned with their own interests. Teens choose individually while juniors choose with their group. There are more than 90-100 rotating activities that are available at various times during the summer and they are taught by professionals. We are one of the only day camps to utilize a staff that is comprised entirely of adults. Our 5:1 camper/counselor ratio is based on personnel over the age of 18; we do not use CITs.
Our belief is that by having offered the widest range of activities taught by an educated and mature staff, we have created an exceptionally safe, exploratory environment where campers can enjoy the learning process. Our unprecedented system of allowing campers to choose their activities at the beginning of each day, ensures that the program can accommodate an incredibly wide range of tastes and personalities.
