- Living here on the East coast since 1996, we're still Californians at heart. We still miss the beach and the LA traffic is more predictable and logical. We do love our home and family lifestyle with the city nearby but the woods in our backyard. It doesn't seem so populated as in LA. You can still get around and see woods and undeveloped areas. The school district is outstanding and our new (meaning post-1996) friends are wonderful. We've met many other families who share in our interests. The community we live in feels small even though its within a big, sprawling suburban area. There are unique and historic stores and restaurants nearby as well as the standard chains a little further away. Its quite comfortable.
