Malcolm Bruce MP



Journalist on Liverpool Daily Post, then worked in commerce for Boots and in local government for the North East Scotland Development Authority


Malcolm Bruce joined the Liberal Party at the age of 17 and was President of the Liberal Club at St. Andrews. He went on to do an MSc in Marketing at Strathclyde University. In 1995, he was called to the bar (Gray's Inn). He went on to establish Aberdeen Petroleum Publishing, with a partner, in 1981.

Malcolm is currently Chair of the influential International Development Select Committee. He is a former leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats and is now President of the Scottish Party. Malcolm has held a number of high profile Party spokesmanships including Trade and Industry, Environment, Food and Rural Affairds and Treasury. He has also been a member of the Scottish Affairs Select Committee, the Trade and Industry Select Committee, the Committee for Standards and Privileges and the Treasury Select Committee.
