The company was formally established in 1996 by Jacob A. Klitenic III (Jake). As a young entrepreneur in the early nineties, Jake managed to earn extra money through landscaping, as he worked his way through college. Upon graduating college with a Business Administration degree, Jake’s entire focus was dedicated to growing his business. Fourteen years later, JK Enterprise Landscape Supply is a leading manufacturer and supplier of mulch, woodchips, top soil, compost, and soil conditioners with annual sales exceeding ten million dollars.
Today, JK operates two production facilities, in Gainesville and Culpeper, Virginia. The centrally located Culpeper site comprises fifty six acres and includes a warehousing facility, as well as a building dedicated to bagging bulk products. Grinding and processing of organic materials are done at both locations. JK also operates contractor yards at the Gainesville and Culpeper facilities, as well as in Chantilly and Alexandria, Virginia. In addition, JK owns a fleet of Express Blower trucks used to deliver and install mulch, compost, top soil, playground safety surfaces, and other growing media directly to the customers sites.

All of our mulches are made locally here in Virginia. They go through a curing process to help reduce weed seeds before being bagged or sold as bulk. The most abundant is double shredded hardwood mulch. The pine mulches are mostly used for bedding around plants requiring more acidic nutrients such as azaleas, rhododendrons, etc. Mulch colors and texture can vary depending upon the aging process and time of year.

We work with CST and Belgard. These are two of the larger and more price-point competitive manufacturers of retaining walls and patio systems. Both have extremely high quality products. These products are 10 times better than your big box store and usually less expensive.

These are collected from around our region and stocked at our contractor yards. We carry lower cost recycled concrete products to high end Delaware River Jacks imported to our area. Almost all of the materials are available in bags and can easily be added to any existing order.

Playground Wood Chips are manufactured from North American Hardwood materials such as Oak, Maple, Hickory, Ash, Birch, Poplar, Beech, Locust, and Eucalyptus. There are no additives or chemical treatments present in the materials. The entire wood product is free of soil, leaves, and twig material and other contaminants that promote faster decomposition. Playground Wood chips are random in size, approximately 5 times longer than they are wide. Playground Wood Chips meet the particle size requirements of ASTM 2075, the heavy metal and tramp metal ASTM 2075 requirements, the ASTM 1292 impact attenuation guidelines and the resistance to flammability requirements 1630/1631.

JK Enterprise Landscape Supply provides Commercial and Residential delivery throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area for all of our products. Bulk materials such as aggregates, stones, soils, and mulches are usually delivered in dump trucks. The size of the truck used for delivery depends upon the quantity ordered. We can accommodate any quantity request, with some minimum requirements. Standard delivery quantity for mulches is usually in the 10-30 cubic yard range, delivered in a single axle or tri-axle dump truck. We can also deliver up to 85 cubic yards by tractor trailer or walking floors. Topsoil blends and heavier bulk aggregates are usually delivered in tri-axle dump trucks in 7-20 cubic yards or 7-20 ton loads.
