Italy is bordered by France, Switzerland and Austria to the north and by the Mediterranean Sea on the West and the Adriatic Sea on East.
Italy is comprised of 20 individual regions. Tuscany, Umbria, Sicily - are some of the regions that most people are familiar with. The Liguria Region is situated in the northwestern part of Italy. Liguria is the Italian Riviera and runs as you cross over from the French Riviera down the magnificent Mediterranean coast to a town called La Spezia. There it is bordered by Tuscany.
Once you get here you'll wonder why you didn't visit sooner or why no one ever told you about it. Well that's because most people know of or have visited the well traveled areas of Italy: Venice, Rome, the Tuscany region, etc. - but the sweeping Ligurian coastline with it's pastel colored villas is not as highly publicized. Probably because the Ligurians prefer it that way.
