I adopted the name Lightglass in the early 80's and it has been my email ID ever since. The name Lightglass comes from the first microscope made by Antoni van Leeuwenhoek. This was the name he called it when he described it to the Royal Microscopial Society. I always thought the name had a certain ring to it. Just 8 of van Leeuwenhoek's simple microscopes survive today.
