Since I was a little girl, my mom had a jewelry business called “The Jewellery Connection”. In 1993, when I graduated from high school, my family opened a clothing store in our town of Bluefield, VA called “Leslie Ann’s”. It was then a few years later that I thought about trying to hand-make jewelry. So one day I went shopping at a local craft store and decided to buy some beads and other components. From there, I started making bracelets for myself. Soon after, my mom was going to work a trade show and she said I should go with her and sell them.
Well, that was the beginning of what I consider a grand hobby now. I wanted to get better and improve on what I’d started so I went with mom to the Apparel Mart in Atlanta, GA and there’s where I found several bead-related showrooms where I could pick and choose all these different styles of beads, big and small. I found it all a bit overwhelming at first, so I purchased my first bundle of beads and was on my way to making jewelry. I had ideas like crazy and wasn’t able to make the jewelry fast enough so I started drawing simple sketches.
So I’ve been making and designing jewelry for about 4 years now. And I've been purchasing some supplies at local craft stores and most of the supplies from well known bead companies. All my work is hand made and designed and is all done in sterling silver. I sell my jewelry in my family's store “Leslie Ann’s” and I do special orders. I make jewelry for any occasion: weddings, special events and everyday wear. I specialize in making bracelets to custom fit the customers wrist size and necklaces are custom made for the customers desired length. Matching earrings are also available.
