Description

A leader in borescope, fiberscope, videoscope and high temperature camera technology, Lenox Instrument supplies a variety of remote visual inspection products. Key products include borescopes, fiberscopes, videoscopes, boiler cameras & furnace cameras.

Borescope Products

Videoscopes Lenox industrial videoscope technology lets you enter openings as small as 5.3 mm, and inspect lengths up to 98.4 feet while viewing the image on a bright, high-resolution, LCD display. Depending on the job on hand, Lenox has a videoscope for you.

Rigid Borescopes Over the years, Lenox has developed what may be the world's most extensive lines of quality, high performance rigid borescopes. To achieve consistently superior performance, we employ computer-designed optics, stainless steel or aluminum construction, sophisticated in-house lens grinding techniques and highest efficiency coatings throughout the optical path.

Flexible Fiberscopes Lenox fiberscopes have solved some of the world's toughest inspection problems, in some of the most inaccessible and inhospitable places. Over the years, we've developed and refined fiberscope technology and taken it to the limit of what optical technology will allow.

Micro Borescopes These miniature borescopes are available with diameters as small as 0.5 mm. They deliver a clear, bright image from inside hypodermic needle tubing, through tiny vent holes in turbine blades and within miniature electronic assemblies. Both flexible and semi-rigid models are available, in lengths up to 600 in.

Sectional Borescopes As rigid borescopes became widely used, it became apparent that units with a long working length could be a valuable inspection tool in certain applications. However, the problems of transporting and storing very long optical instruments presented a number of logistical problems. To meet this need, Lenox Instrument introduced the concept of a sectional, extendable borescope. These units are modular in design and allow the user to add extender sections to provide very long working lengths.

Custom Borescopes Since 1920, Lenox Instrument has been on the leading edge of borescope technology. During this time, we have created custom solutions for demanding applications involving temperature extremes, corrosive environments, explosive or flammable atmospheres and radiation exposure.

FireSight Products

Air Cooled Firesight FireSight systems provide the highest image clarity in the industry. The Light Volume Control feature, a Lenox exclusive, consists of a remote-controlled motorized iris and spot filter located in the furnace lens. With the Light Volume Control, an operator can easily adjust the amount of light transmitted to the camera, eliminating the flaring common with other systems and ensuring a high-quality image from initial light off to maximum load.

Water Cooled Firesight These systems use a water-jacketed furnace lens assembly in place of the air-cooled assembly and wall box, allowing operation in temperatures up to 3800°F. This lens assembly is also slightly smaller than the wall box and can be used in boiler wall penetrations as small as 2-1/8 in. FireSight water-cooled systems provide the same features and reliable performance as air cooled systems for higher temperature applications or for installations where compressed air cooling might be less desirable.

Pultz High Temperature Cameras These high-temperature video cameras are designed to be mounted directly through the wall of a furnace or other combustion chamber. The camera housing mounts in a 3.5 in. diameter opening and employs triple-wall laminar flow for efficient water cooling of the camera in applications up to 4250°F.

Furnace Cameras for Steel Mills Lenox has supplied High Temperature Video products, which now includes the Pultz Systems, to the steel industry for over forty years. Our units have been used in Bar Mills, Pipe Mills, Tube Mills, Plate Mills, Pickling Lines, Galvanizing Lines, and Coating Lines.

Boiler Camera for Power Generation Lenox has been providing furnace lenses to the Power Generation field for over fifty years, beginning as an OEM supplier for various camera manufacturers. Since 1988, we have provided complete systems to the industry. Lenox FireSight has come to be known as "The High Temperature Video System that WORKS - Year in and Year Out".

Boiler Camera for Paper Mills The need for steam in a paper mill is a fact of life, and to maintain optimal combustion, regardless of the fuel, is a requirement from efficiency as well as an environmental standpoint. FireSight gets the job done whether it is a bark burner, black liquor boiler, or whatever your viewing requirements may be.

Furnace Camera and Tin Bath Cam for Glass Lenox has the right High Temperature Camera to satisfy the rigorous demands of the glass industry. With a Glass Furnace Camera you can monitor the furnace continuously right from the control room for under $13,000 each, about 1/3 the cost of a competing system. We can supply: Glass Melter Cameras, Float Glass Furnace Cameras, and Forehearth Cameras, among others.

Cement Kiln Camera Lenox FireSight has long been used as a kiln camera to observe the position of materials such as limestone being heated in rotary kilns. Here we offer either air or water-cooled units, which are mounted in the hood of the kiln. The resulting image is displayed in the control room for the operators to better monitor the process 24/7.

Incinerator Camera A variety of incinerators are used in different fields, and viewing the process with a Lenox Furnace Camera permits each one to operate more efficiency in the chemical and hazardous waste incineration, trash to steam, waste to energy, cogeneration, bio-waste and biomass industries.
