Title

The Lecture Fund

Description

The Georgetown University Lecture Fund is a student-run organization that exists to enrich the academic experience of the Georgetown community. The Lecture Fund strives to bring speakers to Georgetown's main campus to enlighten, to educate and, occasionally, to entertain. In the past, the organization has arranged forums on such topics as the Electoral College, violence in the Middle East, urban economics, and presidential politics. Along with these panel discussions, the Lecture Fund hosts an active calendar of individual speakers addressing a wide variety of subjects and disciplines. Some of the highlights from recent years have included Academy Award-winning directors, politicians at every level of government and from several countries, television stars and producers, professional athletes, religious leaders, and numerous distinguished members of the Georgetown faculty. Please refer to our calendars of past events for a complete line-up of recent speaking engagements.

In addition to scheduling and coordinating events of our own, we are also available to help smaller student organizations plan events, to provide ticket distribution and ushering services for the Office of Communications, and to assist in publicizing events for the Georgetown community as a whole. For more information on having the Lecture Fund co-sponsor an event with your club, on becoming a Lecture Fund member, or for other general questions, please feel free to browse our site or contact us. Additionally, we would greatly appreciate your feedback and speaker suggestions!
