Lavender Hill was orignially the home of Fabian and Nellie Pope, married on December 22, 1887. Fabian built the Victorian in 1900 on land that was purchased at an auction from a couple getting a divorce (unusual for that time). Fabian was head of the water shed project during his time in Sonora. Read a detailed history - click here.
Until the home was turned into a bed and breakfast only 3 families called it their home. The second family (Ciravegna) made wine in the basement. Additions in the rear of the house were added in the 1920’s.
