Description

About Laurel University

The founder of Laurel University began a program in 1993 to supplement people who wanted to become lawyers by apprenticeship and by correspondence law study. There were 9 apprentice states at the time: Alaska California, New York, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.

California is the only state that allows BAR REGISTERED correspondence law schools. However, we have learned that Wisconsin, West Virginia, Washington D.C., and possibly Montana have extended the offer to students who pass the test in one state, to take the test in their jurisdiction. Other States may allow a licensed CA lawyer to sit in their jurisdiction after meeting a 'practice requirement.' You must check with the individual state for the most recent requirements. If you live in another state, you may be able to practice to a limited extent with your CA license. Please see "How can I practice in my own state?" in the Frequently Asked Questions section of this website. Dr. Agajanian (our video lecturer) represented clients in 36 states and 8 countries with his CA license (either in Federal Court or for State matters, with a person licensed in the particular jurisdiction).

Law is only one aspect of our school. We have a complete business program offering a Bachelor in Business Administration, a Masters in Business Administration and the Doctor of Business Administration.
