There are two separate systems for recording transactions in relation to property in Ireland: The Registration of Title system operated by the Land Registry since 1892 The Registry of Deeds system operated by the Registry of Deeds since 1708 Both systems are under the control of the Property Registration Authority which was established on 4th November 2006 under the provisions of the Registration of Deeds and Title Act 2006.
