While a student at Lamar in the mid-1970s, Bart Simmons learned many things that helped him in a successful business career. Not all that he learned was in the classroom. Much of his knowledge was picked up on the football field from Cardinal head coach Vernon Glass. With that in mind, he and his wife Martye contributed $200,000 to LU football.
